ITEM LINEUP

What is an interlining?

Interlining is an auxiliary material that supplements the missing functions that outer material solely can’t cover. By attaching it to outer and backing cloth, it can help the completed product look what it was expected to be, keep a good silhouette or create beautiful curves on the collar, chest and shoulders.
There are mainly two kinds of interlinings. The one attached by manual sewing (non-adhesive) and the one attached by using adhesive resin.
The adhesive interlinings are made of original fabrics and thinly applied solid adhesive (resin) on it. The resin melts from the heat of the iron and bonds the interlining and the fabric together.
The non-adhesive interlining is usually sewn manually on the fabric. However, as such sewing requires a high level of skill, it is mainly used for custom-made clothes.
